Golden hour engulfs the mountains of Kenskoff, Haiti

Right before nightfall, the rain had stopped, and the sun peaked out of the clouds and turned magical, casting its golden warm light as far as my eyes could see. It slowly faded, didn't even last 15 minutes. The sun had gone back under the clouds, ending a fleeting moment of pure bliss.

At nearly 6,000 feet of elevation, Kenscoff cool mountains air attracts residents of Port-Au-Prince and beyond. The village of Kenscoff has lost some of its enchanting, environmental characteristics, however, it's the place I still go to when in search of peace and tranquility.

Extended rainfall causes the Riviere Glace (right before you reach Duchity) to overflow its bank and the resulting flooding devastates crops, temporarily cuts of access to the Grand'Anse and causes death as well.

The innovatory potential of the younger generation combine with their eagerness, strength and desire to contribute can be of exceptional value to the country. The best way to reinforce our future generations is through education, quality education which will make them become an active member of society and participate in the urgent changes and development that Haiti so desperately needs.

All you hear is the sound of nature

Way up in the mountains, about 1,500 feet above sea level, deep in the countryside—away from engine pollution, law enforcement sirens, the hustle and bustle of city life, all you hear is the sound of nature. The pleasant sound of oxen in the distance, the occasional beautiful sound of crows flying overhead, I was hiking and exploring with a local guide when this farmer on his way home came walking on a the narrow dirt track we were on. He didnt seem to mind that I shot a few frames when he walked close pass me.We chatted briefly, he has never been to Port-Au-Prince and has never been photographed before. He was thrilled when I showed him his portrait on my canon LCD, and he needed to walk about a mile from where we were to reach home.
