Anse-à-Pitres, Haiti.

Anse-à-Pitres is a commune in the Southeast Department of Haiti. Its border crossing to Pedernales is one of the four land crossings to the Dominican Republic.

Patrice Douge: Within the frame of a viewfinder, a visual artist tool for documenting, understanding, and interpreting the world. Photography has the power to make us look at what we would otherwise overlook and has also helped to increase our awareness of issues all over the planet. Certain images fulfill the function of social documentaries and have allowed an understanding of the complexities of human nature. Most of my work can be described as being a mixture of art, travel photography and photojournalism. When I am out in the field, I aim to capture the color, texture, and emotion of a subject. I want my images to give rise to a deeper meaning beyond the obvious. It's important to be patient until all the elements in the frame come together and creates the image I set out to capture. Sharing my vision as a photographer, making strong images that the viewer can connect with, is the ultimate sense of completion.
